Fred Perry & The Specials; Who's wondering now!

''My eldest sister was a Mod, my middle sister was a Skinhead and I was a mini Skinhead at the age of 10. So there was a lot of Fred Perry on the washing line''.
Terry Hall- The Specials.

The Specials are one of the most seminal and influential bands in British music history.
At the core of the 2-Tone Ska revival movement, they emerged from Coventry in 1979 in a recession hit Britain. Releasing two era defining albums, 'Specials', and 'More Specials', their social comment, insightful wit and multi-racial unity resonated with a new style generation.

The Fred Perry shirt has been an ever present part of the band's image. To celebrate their 30th anniversary, the band have worked very closely with Fred Perry clothing to produce a range of shirts that encapsulate the iconic style of The Specials.

The shirts were developed around the core theme of 'black & white unite', so important to the band and their music. This is reflected in the monochrome palette and the unique twin coloured laurels and chequer detailing.

Like the Fred Perry shirt, the band's music, message and style are timeless.
